Redness can be frustrating. Especially when skincare, makeup and facials only seem to cover it rather than actually target what is causing it.
At Ellis & Jones Christchurch, we use the Cutera excel V+ vascular laser to precisely target visible blood vessels, redness and a range of vascular skin concerns.
Using two specialised laser wavelengths, excel V+ allows us to treat both superficial redness and deeper visible vessels while leaving the surrounding skin largely unaffected.

How does Excel V+ work?
Excel V+ uses two laser wavelengths, 532 nm and 1064 nm, allowing us to treat vascular concerns at different depths within the skin.

In simple terms, the laser is attracted to the colour within the unwanted blood vessel. Controlled laser energy heats the targeted vessel while helping minimise impact on the surrounding skin.

Over time, the treated vessel becomes less visible.
Because we can adjust the wavelength, spot size and settings for the individual concern, we are able to create a treatment plan around your skin rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Is Excel V+ good for facial redness and rosacea?
It can be an excellent option for suitable clients experiencing persistent facial redness, visible capillaries or rosacea-related redness.

Rosacea can look different from person to person. Some people have an overall flushed appearance, while others have individual visible vessels around areas such as the nose and cheeks.

Excel V+ gives us the ability to target both diffuse redness and individual vessels, depending on what we see during your consultation.
Is there downtime?
Downtime varies depending on what we are treating and the intensity of your treatment.
Temporary redness, warmth or swelling can occur after vascular laser treatment. Some treated vessels may temporarily appear darker or more noticeable before gradually improving.
We will explain exactly what you can expect before treatment and provide you with appropriate aftercare instructions.
How many Excel V+ treatments will I need?
There is no set number that applies to everyone.
Some vascular concerns may respond noticeably following a small number of treatments, while more widespread redness, rosacea or deeper vessels may require a treatment plan over several sessions.
Your practitioner will assess your skin, discuss your goals and recommend a treatment schedule based on the concern being treated.
